Review of Watseka, Illinois

Growing up in Watseka
Star Rating - 2/2/2009
Yes, I can see the previous writers' point of view. However, Watseka is the town of my birth. Gotta stand up for it. For a small community, it offers a variety of church involvement, community events - especially the Fourth of July celebration, school spirit, and people who are willing to help you out in a crunch. My father was one of them. And yes, he was a part of the older generation and was concerned about what newcomers had to offer the city. It is a quiet little town. There was a bowling alley once and could be again if you wanted to own a business there; just make it a great place for families and teens. The city pool has always been a place for kids to spend their summers and learn the sport. Little League is a habit easily formed. Donavan Park is closer to home and a great place for a picnic where little ones can run and play. You don't need to stay an outsider for long. Just give Watseka a little loving care of your own and see it blossom.
