Review of Hudson, Ohio

I lived in Hudson for 25 years. It's a wonderful place to raise a family. It has great public schools and an outstanding prep school in Western Reserve Academy. Crime is almost non-existent, although from time to time you may read about someone's mailbox getting run over or a dog barking after 8:00 PM. It is picturesque, with many beautiful places to spend leisure time such as Hudson Springs Park or Barlow Farm Park. It's close to the Cuyahoga Valley National Park where the hiking/running trails stretch forever.

The town is highly educated and its residents tend to be financially better off than most.

Its downtown area is very active with many boutique shops and restaurants. You may note that downtown is void of electric signs, with most merchants choosing wooden ones. The architectural committee keeps tight reign on building around town which is both a blessing and a curse. It's a bit of a trek to find a decent shopping mall, but that's a worthwhile trade-off to preserve the quaintness of the town.

We raised our kids in Hudson. Although as teenagers they often pined for more things to do around town, as young adults they now long to return an raise their own families there.

I can't say enough good things about Hudson. We miss it dearly.
