Its interesting to live in Rabun County
Star Rating - 4/30/2008
We have lived full time in Rabun County for 12 years and part time for 31 years. It is an absolutely beautful county but it is governed by the locals and it is hard to break in. Some people want to preserve the mountains and protect the environment and others see it as an opportunity to build more houses. I appreciate the builders who want to make money but there are opportunistis who take advantage of the system, fill the the county commissioners with their relatives and change the county laws to suit their needs. The Lake areas pay the price for the county government neglect and if you want to move here be advised that you need to be interested in the county government because your taxes are the price you pay for this county and its beauty and its problems.
