Social Graces

I have lived in Clive, Iowa for 20yrs. I continue to be amazed to the lack of "Social Graces" in Iowa. I am a military brat, having lived in many states and abroad, and I find Iowa to lack in so many of the day to day manners. I read not long ago that over 70% of Iowans were born and bred here. Therefore, it is not that Iowans do not care, nor if told, would do so otherwise, they have just not been subjected to the the finery of Social Graces.
