The Best Small Town in America for Young Families
Star Rating - 3/17/2019
My wife and I moved here with our 2 month old baby after living most of our lives in Colorado and we could not be happier with our decision. Stockbridge is the perfect small town. We are surrounded by beautiful nature and have all of the amenities we need. The are green mountains and perfect rivers and lakes everywhere here. From hiking, skiing, tennis, swimming, fishing, snowshoeing, disc golf, rock climbing, ice skating, soccer, bird watching, farmers markets, sledding, and leaf peeping we never run out of free things to do outside year round. We are also in the middle of an amazing arts and culture scene with Tanglewood musical concerts, Jacobs Pillow Dance, Shakespeare & Company, The Norman Rockwell Museum, Berkshire Theatre Group, Berksire Botanical Gardens, and more all nearby and all are either free for locals or have free local days. The food and restaurants are amazing too, catering to the weekenders from New York and Boston. Its small town living with big city amenities and culture, everything you could want or need is here. Great schools, libraries, parks and playgrounds for the kids. We have warm sunny summers for hanging out at the lake, the most colorful and vibrant falls, snowy cozy winters to get in the holiday spirit, and bright blossoming springs. It really is a special four season place. We have traveled to many places all around the country and world and I can confidently say there is no better place to live for a young family. We love it here!!!
