Review of Sheridan, Wyoming

Intolerant Yuppie Town
Star Rating - 10/18/2018
Rich yuppie town, a tourist trap, intolerant, people, the Police are the worst, as are the Judges.
I am an RN taking my husband to the Mayo Clinic for treatment of prostate cancer.
We stopped for food and fuel.
Intolerant of those with disabilities, could not even find a place to pee without spending money.
On a side street people were walking their dogs, and not even picking up the poop. A discusting place off Main Street.
Main Street is all gussied up for the wealthy heading to the Rockies.
Stay away if you are Black, Elderly, or have any disabilities.

I was thinking of moving here heard good things about this place until I just looked at the people ,but as a white male who grew up around every kind of race , I can’t live where there is 90% white I don’t understand how anyone would want to live in a environment where everyone looks the same. I like to live around all different races and learn and share my experiences with there’s . We moved from Texas Houston to Reno Nevada which is very white my wife worked one year in this town and quit her Job because she got tired of looking at people that looked like her . If anyone knows of a good places where there are Mexicans,Spanish, blacks , whites, Asians, Middle eastern, Hard working middle class people please let me know. . No California lived there also .

First of all I'm sorry to hear about your husband. Our thoughts are with him and you. My sister and I are Mexican, elderly and one of us with a bad knee. We found people in Sheridan couldn't have been more pleasant. Of course we're nice and respectful as our family was in the service business so we start out with a positive attitude and a smile (nothing worse than waiting on grumpy customers). We never had an issue stopping at one of the gas station in town to use the restroom. People were dressed no differently than anywhere else other than the spattering of cowboy attire which we found a welcome relief from the spandex leggings that show every bump and lump, bed hair and the grunge look. Perhaps you were overwhelmed and stressed which is understandable.

I'm just curious how you would be able to assess that the entire community is intolerant based on stopping for food and fuel.

Or how you would come to the conclusion that the police and judges are the worst if you were, again, only stopping for food and fuel.

Sorry you had a bad experience. But this really isn't Sheridan. There are a lot elderly people that live here and seem to love it here. Also I know you can go into any gas station in town and use the restroom. They are also handicap accessible. Walmart is another place you are able to go. Most privately owned stores require you to be a customer just like anywhere else in the world. To say people of color shouldn't come here is just wrong. Yes, the majority of people that live here are white. But that doesn't make them racist. As for the dog poop, I know that they are required to pick it up. But on the streets on either side of downtown is part of the historic district and is pretty clean. How do you know that the police and judges are the worst? Did you have to talk to them while you were here?
