I just moved here from out-of-state a few months ago and have been pleasantly surprised by the broad range of activities and amenities available in this medium sized IA city 10 minutes from downtown Des Moines. No matter your interests are, this city has everything. Brand new shopping mall, historict shopping district, stadium movie theatre, tons of restaurants, really nice comedy club, farmers markets, lots of festivals and activites for kids, parks, recreational lake, some of the best schools in the country - public and private, and it's one of the cleanest cities I've ever seen. I know it's Iowa but if you're thinking of moving here, don't rule it out until you actually visit.
