Review of Sequim, Washington

A Place For Successful, Hard Working People
Star Rating - 11/18/2018
There is a reason the population has increased here by nearly 90% growth in the last 17 years. People want to live here. Sequim's infrastructure is finally catching up with the population. In addition, I am seeing MANY more young families living here. People want to raise their children away from the city crime and pollution...as well as being in a community which is strong in family values. This is place where people are active and love the mountains, rivers, trails, ocean and straits...and the entertainment and peace they provide. No, it is isn't inexpensive to live here. But people who do live here can afford it because of their hard work to achieving financial success, whether it be through formal education or trade. We love people who earn their keep.

I agree. I went to college and studied hard so I could live an upscale lifestyle. I am glad it is more expensive to live here because the prices keep the riffraf out.

Earn their keep, as in be willing to take less to do the job people are getting paid more to do in other places, especially in places people who have moved to Sequim have come from. People move here after selling houses for millions of dollars and then offer $20 an hour to licensed contractors to do handyman work, when the money doesn't even cover what license/insurance/bonding costs in this state to be an honest worker who earns their keep. Whoever is writing this stuff must be getting paid by someone to sell lies on here, because the economy is awful in Sequim and it is being brought down by people who move to the area and don't offer to pay what human services are worth. Just look at Olympic Peninsula Craigslist jobs to get an idea of how awful it is here, and then look at Indeed. This is a place to die; not a place to live and thrive. Anyone who says Sequim is wonderful should declare how much money they live on because that changes the perspective entirely.

Lot of dog whistling going on here, I can only hope that y'all's views aren't representative of the community in general.
