Review of Vernal, Utah

Rent is too high, people are isolated and unsophisticated. Unless your Mormon or want to become Mormon, you're really not welcome here. The economy is oil, which means big booms and big busts. The nearest good sized city is 2 hrs drive. Vernal really has nothing to offer- not even a mall. If you like shooting things, riding ATVs, joining religious cults, and shopping at WalMart, then you will love Vernal.

It sounds like Tanis is a little bitter. Vernal has lot to offer, it's a great location if you love the outdoors. The Uintah mountains are its back porch. There's great hiking, biking, X-country skiing, exploring, boating, fishing, hunting, whitewater rafting, etc. The people in Vernal are generally nice. There are many religions represented. But Tanis is right, if you like big cities, lots of lights, no stars in the sky, wearing fur, eating $50.00 steaks, and pretending like you are better then the unfortunate souls who like to live a little more slowly, then Vernal is not for you and you are certainly not for Vernal.

Your last sentence totally cracks me up, LOL! I live in Wyoming - from what you have described, Wyoming should annex Vernal.....
