I guess they spray for the bugs at the resorts and keep the a/c blasting, but when you live here you're on your own. Having come from California with no bugs and no humidity...I had quite the shock...I felt like I was in the bayous of Louisiana or something...I couldn't sleep or go outside...I was just constantly cranky. I got relocated here for my job...I can't wait to leave. I hope this wasn't negative. It is a beautiful place...Maui, but when you live here you work, shop, go home, watch the news, do laundry, fix dinner, go to bed, get your roots colored, get your car fixed...it isn't a holiday. When I did have time off it was to go back to the Mainland to get my little dogs who had to wait 4 months before they were allowed to enter the state of HI. So anyway...it is a great place and if I could just dry out the air, I would love it here...the people and pace and scenery are perfect!
