Review of Denver, Colorado

Beautiful Denver has been ruined by liberals.
Star Rating - 7/18/2021
Moved to Denver for retirement in 2016. Can't take it any longer, so moving out next month. City management is atrocious. The liberals have made it a haven for homeless & drugs, then they complain. If you love America, you won't like Denver. I would not own property here.

Went to a concert at Red Rocks 5 years ago. Everything was great. Went to college in Denver some time ago, but loved it! Try and find a big city with no homeless people, no bad traffic, and no crime problem. Good luck.

Absolutely agree. The liberals own this town. It's unsafe and your kids will be indoctrinated into liberal group think. Teachers here are disgustingly proud to be liberal democrats, send out emails with their pronouns, and promote liberal activism. Schools send surveys out asking your kids how they sexually identify in middle school. All the liberals should congregate here. Conservatives don't come near this place. It's terrible.

Glad you left Roy. Denver likes positive people....we like complainers to live with their own kind. We aren't complainers in Denver. Denver is vibrant, diverse, and has its share of problems as all urban areas. But we reach our and help one another. That's what good people do...and Denver has lots of good people. The worst thing in Denver is air quality is deteriorating again.

I'm now 40 and I am a Denver area native. I can honestly see I've seen the city change and grow in so many ways, but one way I can say that the city has most definitely not been ruined is by "liberals". Give me a break! This guy is probably an angry conservative just angry to see that the city has increased in cultural diversity and tolerance. Denver has been made better by having a younger population and more diversity. For a major city Denver has no higher crime rates or homelessness than any other major city and compared to many cities of similar size crime rates are actually lower. If he wants to compare some of the more "right wing" cities in Colorado based on population size many of them actually have much higher crime rate averages and higher rates of drug abuse.... so he's factually completely wrong. The economy in Denver is also one of the strongest in the nation. The bad parts are that with the booming population growth is that housing prices and prices for renting have skyrocketed. Depending on what type of job you have, it's probably not very afforabable. I work as a nurse, and I'm married, but honestly I think if I was single I would struggle to afford it. Also one of the reasons people have flocked to Colorado is the outdoor lifestyle, and in my opinion that is honestly getting ruined a bit. It's hard to go anywhere to "get away from it all" anymore. Hiking trails are always crowded and driving I-70 during ski season is a constant nightmare (honestly I don't even like skiing much anymore for that reason. I love the outdoors as much as any other Coloradan so I get the appeal, I just think the population growth has been too much too fast and I worry about the environmental impact. I know many of the trails, especially the 14 er's are being eroded away simply from all the foot traffic they know experience. I would consider moving to another state with similar outdoor lifestyle appeal, but my heart still belongs here.

If you don't like liberals, don't move to a major metropolitan city! Use your head.

I agree. Liberals are a cancer that spreads socialism and hate. Seattle is a trash can, too. Mostly pathetic blue states.

Just admit it Roy. You bought property and the equity absolutely skyrocketed. Now you are cashing in and - ironically - complaining about it!

I feel for you. I grew up there, brought my children up there. The Blue Plague moved in heavily in the last 20 years and completely turned the Denver Metro area upside down. It is a cesspool of SJW's, alphabet people, drugs, homelessness, crime and the real estate prices are through the roof and its too crowded. Everyone there is rude, act elitist and easily offended. Pride flags EVERYWHERE! It is night and day compared to 25 years ago. We were blessed to be able to move to North Carolina. People in NC are super nice.

Join the club Roy! Many Denverites have not only left the city, but also the state. The socialist millennials have moved in and the result is a sanctuary city and state that is so far Left, it is difficult to live a normal life. Yes, Denver has turned in to a Portland 2.0. Best of Luck.
