Regional air quality more often than not is considered unhealthful for sensitive groups. The climate and terrain combine to allow a witches' brew to form and dominate; only rare appearances of low pressure systems to blow it up & out manage to clean it up, but that's at best a temporary condition before pollution becomes trapped, continuing to build layers of goo, hanging there. Don't live here if you have respiratory issues.
