Review of Grand Junction, Colorado

Just keep driving until you get to Utah.

I lived in grand junction for 7 years. So glad to get out. Fun fact, there are stories about how you have to collect dirt from all four corners or you’ll never leave. It’s an old Ute Indian curse on the town. Honestly it’s nothing but homeless people and drug addiction. It’s a small town with big city problems, And the same amount of crime. I noticed an unusually high number of mental illness while working for the mind springs health network. They say in GJ don’t drink the water because of the old uranium mine. Haha. My folks still live in orchard Mesa. They love it. It is nice to visit but I wouldn’t move back.

Jacky, stay away from Grand Junction/Orchard Mesa. VERY conservative! You would like areas north of Denver like Loveland, Longmont, or Fort Collins. Though all of CO is becoming expensive these days.

Hello Jackie I am Jacky from Miami desperate to move out of Florida. I used to live in Jacksonville some times of the year, sold the house after hurricane Irma. I always thought that hurricanes stayed away from Jax. Miami is becoming a nightmare, and at one point thought about relocating permanently to Jax until friends and ex neighbors told me stories about Trump militias and Republican fanatics, even the pictures sent to me by the real estate agent. So, I’m considering moving to Colorado ( no hurricanes, no endless steaming summers and no more unaffordable property and home owners insurance). You said you spent 7 years in GJ and never again, is there in CO any other place that you would recommend?. Denver is just too expensive, I have a degree in psychology and work for the criminal justice system and With DUI offenders. What place is where your folks live? Thanks so much for providing me with real point of view.
