We moved to Garland in 1985 coming from 10 years in other countries, NY,CT,HI,OR. I saw potential and must commend out police , fire water and sanitation depts. The people here are on the whole very nice. I do see that the mentality of the good old boys has held the city back .We have a good mall and some other shopping, good access to other cities and moderate public transportation through DART. I would con test some of the reviews as Garland has a low crime rate. I was struck by the fact that racism in TX and Garland has a long way to go.
