9,000 feet above sea level nestled in the Sacramento Mountains lies beautiful Cloudcroft, NM. Like any small town everyone knows everything about you. Cloudcroft boasts great schools, friendly people and possibly the most beautiful setting of any city in New Mexico. I graduated high school from Cloudcroft and after living in Silver City for nine years I can tell you, it's about as good as it gets in NM. Shopping for general necessities can get expensive if you shop in the village. There is definately a downside to driving 17 miles to Alamo or an hours and a half to Cruces or El Paso for shopping. But for my money, Cloudcroft is the best town in the state of New Mexico to call home..I'm proud to be from there.
