Review of St. Augustine, Florida

S. A. is a drinking village with a drug problem
Star Rating - 8/11/2019
I moved here back in 2005, and at the time it was a nice quiet town on the surface. Now fast forward to 2019, traffic has increased precipitously, forests are being destroyed, and houses and housing developments are being brought up everywhere. There was a saying that it was a "drinking village with a fishing problem". It's still true, only, it's drug problem now more than a fishing problem. The only gig in town is the local hospital, or if you like to work hospitality, come on down. The cost of living is astronomical. If you perform a rental search, the only thing you will see are expensive duplexes and houses that go from anywhere from $1,200 to $ 1,400 and higher. THERE IS NOTHING TO RENT down here! The climate is another story altogether. It's Hot. It's humid, it's Florida. Horses suffer immeasurably down here. it's wet and hoof care is a challenge if you own a horse. If you're lucky to get a house with a well, be prepared to deal with hydrogen sulfide and (rotten eggs) and iron among other contaminants. The feeling is long gone for me.

We Agree with Derek 100%!! He is VERY RIGHT! Do Not Move To This Corrupted Town! It is a MESS! We will start with: The Crime which was not covered in the previous Review. Residents who live here...GET YOUR DIRTY HEADS OUT OF THE SAND AND LEARN THE TRUTH!! The Crime Rates in St Augustine is this: In St. Augustine, FL, you have a 1 in 146 chance of falling victim to a violent crime, such as rape, robbery, assault, or even murder. In terms of property crime, your chances of being a victim are 1 in 29. These crimes include theft, vehicle theft, and burglary. National crime reporting numbers show that St. Augustine’s crime rate far outpaces the rest of St. Johns County and is keeping even with Jacksonville!? Have you done your due diligence? Taken from Local Newspaper Reporting Articles. As a tried and true person who has always wanted to promote the Community through adult recreation clubs...we gave up on that 2 years ago. Recently, a Member of our Club fell Victim to a person who we are alleging is a serious Bio-Polar who was victimized, harmed, and assaulted. The public knows the truth about this run down town...corrupt City Government, corrupt law enforcement...and corrupt towns people...how much worse can it get for you?! The County is saying that 3,000 people are moving into this crazy nut city every day! Don't believe a word of it! Find out how many are MOVING OUT! Much more important! We are getting OUT as soon as WE CAN!
