Review of Palm Springs, California

Paradise Lost
Star Rating - 8/6/2020
14 years is plenty long enough. This is a nice place to visit, not live.
In the last 20 years the air quality, especially in the summer has
deteriorated considerably. And, add to that, more heat records
are being experienced. There were 2 days in 2020, a couple of
weeks apart where the temp reached 121 degrees. If you think
that’s not a big deal, just ask your outdoor plants how they like
it. Just try to walk the dog when the average summertime
temp is close to 110. Mornings are not cool anymore.
Your home suffers inside and out. This kind of heat is murderous
to everything outside. On the inside, after just 10 years, anything
white plastic turns yellow. And then there’s your skin with 10%
humidity...
Sure the Mountain View’s are amazing, but best left to the lizards.
And, if you’re really adventurous try to be there during those 180
days a year when the temp averages 90 and above, while you
have an earthquake, and the power is lost. It WILL happen some
day, as there is a wide network of fault lines running through
the area. My advice, get out while the gettins good!
