Unfortunately, a lot of businesses are just not paying well. It's difficult to work when they aren't paying enough to cover transportation and rent. People have found other ways to make ends meet like GrubHub and self employment. Springfield pay has always been pretty low. Like the local hospitals are severely imo underpaying staff, considering the verbal and physical abuse they endure.
