It can be difficult if you are a less than desireable tenant as it should be. Landlords are held responsible for their tenants' behavior here in an effort to keep the riff raff out. Unfortunately they are now proposing to require Landlords to accept section 8. A big step in the wrong direction. As a homeowner in a neighborhood where 2 former owner occupied houses have been bought by slum lords that rent to section 8 as a way to avoid getting stiffed for rent, I say if you can't screen tenants any better than that, perhaps you shouldn't be a landlord. Bring the ghetto into my neighborhood and drive my property value down and I will run them out leaving your property empty with no income coming in at all.
