A well kept secret in the Evergreen Foothills - a 55+ Community where the word "retirement" is rarely spoken. Because we live in beautiful Northern California, there is so much to do to keep active, at any age. Evergreen Hills - 7/24/2007
This area of San Jose is its fastest growing and most culturally diverse. Area public schools are among the highest performing in the South Bay. This zip code comprises most of the Evergreen Specific Plan which, as of the summer of 2007, is still in flux. Original plan is for the introduction of as many as 20,000 jobs with the build out of its "light industrial" zoned portions. However, there is a great deal of pressure for a rezone to residential which would add 3000 to 4000 homes from high-density to low-density parcels. The area within the ESP includes some of the largest undeveloped parcels in the city of San Jose.

Currently, the area can be described as mostly suburban to moderately urbanized. A large retirement community dominates it's southeast portion and skews the general demography stats.
