I must disagree with the comment left on 10/10/2011. My daughter is the Magnet Program (commentor stated hers was also an honor student), but over the last three years I have had to request two conferences with issues of two different teachers' classroom teaching (or lack thereof in one case) styles. Scheduled conferences are held with the specific teacher, the student's assigned counselor, student, parent, and an administrator if the issue is deemed serious enough. I asked about why I couldn't just meet with the teacher, but this seems to be NCHS policy. The issue was taken VERY seriously and a follow-up meeting was scheduled with an administrator from the actual school district's ooffice located in Marietta. My daughter would come home and explain that an "observer" was now in her class. This lasted for several weeks.
