crime Prince George County police are very slow to respond to 911 calls even when it involves violent crime. It seems the police dept. is under staffed and treat 911 calls as a nuisance. Our neighborhoods was encouraged to create a Neighborhood Watch but have had a few positive meetings with the local PD and little else. Community involvement among residents is non-existant. I have lives in Beltsville for 30 years and I am very discouraged by the negative turn it has taken in the last 5 years. I am very sorry to post this negative review but I must be honest. There are many places I feel safe, Calverton Shopping Center is one. However, the surrounding neighborhoods are a bit frightening and strolling about after dark is downright stupid.
