Local Schools
Meridian Township offers excellent K through 12 public schools with reasonable housing and property tax costs in a suburban environment. All schools have modern facilities and are well-equipped. Public school teachers are unionized, but the greater share are very good quality, with a good fraction that is very high quality and dedicated to teaching. Parents tend to be highly supportive of schools with high expectations for children. Schools offer a wide ranges of club and formal sports activities. Okemos schools have an excellent grade 5 to 12 music program with orchestra, band, and philharmonic opportunities in high school.
