10/2/2021Don't forget the fact that homeowners from the 'good old days' never took care of their homes. its a miracle this town has a support base. no good-paying jobs outside of government funding [which spells economic doom by the way], terrible quality schools, garbage homes, etc. Aurora was the right option and its overpriced. this whole state went to hell recently. Also, the average home is now beyond a GS-13 salary if you do it the right way. Keep in mind the government cannot keep bailing out delinquent homeowners.

10/2/2021Give it a few months. Once you are at risk of losing your remote job and are staring down a low-end job market, figuring out that a TSCI costs $15k and paying your $2k mortgage, you will understand why this is the wrong comment to leave. Most jobs in the Springs pay < $17 and hour. The drive to a place where the government isn't the only source of good pay takes 2.5 hours one way now. Good Luck! I moved back to Aurora, CO where I can buy a condo at the same price 30 minutes from my job. My backup option, Vermont. Worst case, St Charles. All blue a-f.
