Patchogue, NY
A great place to live -
1/6/2010I've lived in Patchogue for 11 years and think it's just a fantastic place to raise children, meet all different kinds of people and have lots of things to do. It is a waterfront community so boating and fishing is plentiful. The dining is terrific, from American to Latin American, Thai, Japanese, Italian, et.. and not ridiculously expensive. It is a walkable town. One of the things I love about this town is that your child can get a decent education. However it is not the most intellectually stimulating school district. There are others
that are more challenging. However, it is not extremely competitive, which I find a positive. A great music program and lots of sports. The village is growing and major improvements are in progress.
