Tampa, FL

If you're unhappy here, it's probably you - 5/6/2021
Well now that I’ve moved to Tampa since I last replied I can now give a better comment as to what I have found ! I actually enjoy this area very much so . I was working part time delivering pizza to the lutz and carrollwood areas. I have seen some of the most beautiful homes like in the Avilas ! I can only dream of owning a home like that. I’ve seen less fancy areas there and they still quite nice from what I seen . Sadly houses that were say 132,000 two/three years ago now go for over 300,000! But anyways thumbs up to that area ! I moved to the New Tampa area off Bruce b Downs. It has some really nice spots to it and a couple not as nice but still would raise a family in this area spots . About 5/6 miles down where advent hospital is and going towards Fowler and Fletcher is more where students living apts are and USF is. It has some nice living area surrounding as well as not so nice. Its more of a city feel to it as far as having good and not so good areas. I travel to Clearwater daily and I have Drs closer to Martin Luther king Blvd area and my daughter goes to class there to get caught up on credits. I wouldn’t let her be on the bus down there personally. It’s not the best of areas from what I seen. Ybor area has a lot of college folk and have some more posh areas. They say it’s a college party area full of bars and things to do. It was kind of scary in most of the areas there in my opinion . I looked at some places to rent down there and you had really expensive places to rent and then homes with bars on their windows parts that still cost quite a bit. So to clarify it’s basically like everywhere else with good and bad areas . The driving is scary af at times and some days I pray as I drive that I won’t die lol . Now I know why insurance is so high here . I have family in Apollo beach and it’s nice there from the areas I have seen . I had Drs out in Brandon but the area was not the greatest but the mall is decent . I am debating whether I want to stay in the new Tampa/ wesley chapel area or buy a home in carrolwood or lutz . I am also considering checking out sarasota down to port charlotte and as far south as Naples or Cape Coral. From what I have been seeing Tampa or the smaller suburbs of Tampa and west of Tampa have homes that are more affordable to buy and to rent. The closer to the beach area and more southern part of Tampa seems to be most expensive. I don’t. When I moved to Perry I really thought I made a huge mistake moving to Florida . Since moving to Tampa I could imagine leaving Florida . There is such diversity here . There is so much to do u will never get bored . Everywhere you want to go is witching a hour to hour half drive at most an Clearwater and treasure island within 45 mins drive ur there depending which part of Tampa . I finally feel like I’m home . That said now it’s just where I want to buy a house where I won’t get bored :) So the best thing anyone can do is come down here and really spend time in the different areas, research , if u have kids schools are so
Important, and remember just bc we live

I am actually looking to move within the area of Tampa ! I’ve been looking at surrounding areas within 30 miles of Tampa! I moved from mass to perry a year and half ago and there is nothing here for services and medical care here is non existent! So I have been looking at Tampa bc everything I’ve been trying to do and find is in that area ! However everyone has been telling me Tampa and new port Richey and places like Bradenton and Braden and Zephyrhills are all bad crime and drugs and no good for having a family :( so I’m trying to research and find a family friendly affordable rents and home ownership for a single mom who is on disability and going back to school ! I was in nursing school when I was in my accident :( anyways any advice when choosing a place ? Where to avoid ?
