Beautiful and Underrated -
2/24/2020I've lived in The Dalles for two years and I love it. The community is so kind and eager to get people involved. It's small enough that getting around town is quick and easy, but large enough that not everyone is your next-door neighbor. The best thing about The Dalles is that you have access to beautiful scenery from every direction. Go up on the hills behind the town or out east just a mile or two and you can see Mt. Hood and all her glory and Mt. Adams, our beautiful neighbor to the north. There are amazing dirt roads and scenic country drives if you head south from The Dalles. Just across the river in Washington, there are multiple hikes within a 15-minute drive that also give you amazing views of the mountains, the river, and The Dalles.
