friendly people -
11/8/2009I have lived in Oracle for 6 over months now, and have lived many places in the US. This is one of the most friendly small towns I have found. Good rental homes are hard to come by, but there are many for sale at a low price. There are many community activities and an acceptance of many kinds of people. It has it's small town politics and the usual southwest mix of ranchers, hispanics and, in this case, artists. (Could be environmentalists, new-agers, "elitists," whatever label those who feel threatened put on the group they don't belong to.) There are many close hiking trails (once you get used to the desert environment). I don't think gardening will be easy here but we'll find out! Also not as hot here as Tucson because of altitude, but close enough for shopping.
