Buckhannon is small, but it can still be dangerous -

Buckhannon has a small population of about 6,000 people, but in my time of growing up here I have seen, people stabbed at skate parks and public hangouts, any drug you can think of passed around, hit and runs, stolen property, damaging property, people at my school go to jail for DUI, robbery, shoplifting, rape, assaulting school staff members, and some but very few for murder or manslaughter. I even had a brother get killed while hunting with his friend, then the friend shot him after smoking pot. I also have also had friends and other kids at my school die from DUI and drug overdosing. In March 2008, one of my friends and my cousin went drinking with three other girls and were speeding before falling on its side and the cab smashing a tree, all died except my cousin. Buckhannon Upshur High School and even Middle School have expeirenced at least 8 deaths in the 2007-2008 school year.
