Very True. You know it is quite funny, the jokers on here that bitch and complain actually go around giving all of the good comments Thumbs DOWN. How truly pathetic. The only time I ever give anything except a thumbs up is when someone is racist.

It is beautiful! There is tons to do, for both young and old. Many people to meet. The Unemployment rate is lower than the norm, and the cost of living is pretty decent. Houses are not too bad, though they've gone up in the last few years because it has become such a popular place to live. If you like Desert and you like heat, you will love it. The culture is awesome and the people are laid back and wonderful.

Really? you can't go outside from May-September? Why, are you made of wax? You're not a real person? I'm sorry. That must really suck. We spend a great deal of time in AZ. Phoenix, Scottsdale, Sedona, Apache Junction, Cave Creek, Prescott, Page, Oracle, and more. However, we always spend at least a few weeks in the summer in the valley. Most recently from the 15th of August to the 30th. We spent a great deal of time outside. We went site seeing, we went to the range, golfing, shopping in Old Scottsdale and Cave Creek, during the day, went to Tucson and visited the Botanical Gardens and a few other places, went on a Trolley ride for several hours, walking down main street for the day, etc. We didn't die, or melt, or anything. My husband is 1 year post quadruple bypass and I've got medical issues, but we stay hydrated and we stay healthy. We don't live in the desert, so we aren't as used to it as someone that lives there year round, so I am wondering what it is that keeps you in almost half of the year?

Lets see some real statistics on all of this. And I don't mean just one. I want to see several for each one.
I hate to tell you this but houses aren't selling anywhere in the US, and if you haven't figured it out yet, its because we are having a huge money crises. DUH!!! And it's too bad so many Canadians and people from East of the Mississippi moved to AZ thinking they were going to make a new life without figuring out if they liked the heat first. Now they took out mortgages on homes they can't afford and instead of sucking it up, or selling at a loss, they get on boards like this and shoot down the culture, the people, and everything else. Apparently you don't know what culture is. There are more artists, theaters, museums, gardens, music, natural places, unbroken land, and the list goes on.. in AZ than there is in most any city/state in the US. Look it up. Check it out. We travel all year, and we can't run out of things to do in AZ no matter how hard we try. And no pretty mountains/lakes etc...Wow, you have no idea... leave your house once in a while, get a few pieces of lit from a website or from the info bureau. I am sure that people will be happy to see you go. People tend to get very tired of whiners. You get what you give. So you're just looking in a mirror, and when you think you're seeing the landscape, you're just seeing yourself staring back, and its just Narcissus.

Its nice to hear someone talk about all of the good things, and there are sooo many. My husband and I long for the day that they children are grown and the time comes that we can go back to where we belong for good.
What a nice review!

Ha, I don't know where you've lived, but first, the people in Phoenix and Tucson both are courteous, in ways that involve driving and otherwise. You just have to be respectful to them. The air quality for a large city is no worse than any other city of its size. And I don't know where you are driving, but I've driven all of the way across the city from one side to the other, going from West Phoenix and getting to the outskirts, and almost to Florence (going the speed limit) and it doesn't take 2 hours. You must have gotten terribly lost.
If it's so bad to you, perhaps you should move back to the midwest or East, it sounds like thats where you're from.
Everyone knows that westerners are open and courteous and laidback. Obviously the bus skipped you on that one!
