Rancho Park Review -
11/15/2008This little community, while OK, is outrageously priced and overrated. Single family homes are not affordable for most people. Buying in at nearly $1M is in itself, outrageous, and makes property taxes outrageous. The houses are old (even though they may be refurbished), small and have tiny yards for the most part (there are a few exceptions). I live here. My landlord paid about $30K for this duplex about 20 or so years ago and just tried to sell it for almost $900K!! That's for a crappy little duplex (1 bed, one bath each with about a 40X80 foot lot). People actually looked into it, but ultimately, it didn't sell. Frankly, I just don't understand why people pay so much to buy here. Nearby major streets are overcrowded and polluted. Everything is always dirty because it only rains once in a while. Its just east of the 405 so who knows how many million pounds of carcinogenic pollutants are in the air every day here. There seems to be a complete disconnection between price and value. It is not at all logical. But hey, this is L.A.
