5/24/2013Hello Kathryn. I dont know if your still checking your mail since your 2010 post but here I am. Im David and live in Schwenksville, Use to live in BLoomsburg and like you I miss the West coast of this country so bad it hurts down to the base of my heart and soul. I use to Live in Arizona and then I lived in Northern Texas and damn I miss the people, the weather, the backwards ways of life, the clean air, the AMerican indians, just everything was right but now im stuck in Pennsylvania. I do have the funds if offered a job out there to get an apartment, hook up the utilities, gas for the Uhaul but what I dont have is the Rental Truck funds or motel funds to get across the country again and this hurts even more cause I really feel trapped. if you wish, get back to me on this topic, take care and Bless you and those around you. 4/14/2013Hi Kenny, I use to live in Prescott valley and Miss it very much. the weather is great, the people are friendly, the American Indians are great to be around as well for here they are not just history but still very much a part of the area. Have you tryed the Yavapai casino, the hospital, the school district, Freeport Mcmoran Mining company, etc. I to am trying to move there but have a much further travel then you for I live back in Pennsylvania. Im 50 and tired of Cold weather. The only down size of this area is apartments are higher priced then in other parts of Arizona so the job you land should be at least a pay rate of $9.50 or more an hour and full time perm, other wise you wont make it here with the prices unless you livein a mexican shack and you dont want to do that. 4/14/2013Hello Bill, How are you. Im David and live in Pennsylvania. Im 50, in good health but Tired of the snow, very tired of the snow and cold. Is there any jobs to speak of in or very near Blairsville. Sounds like a very nice slow town to live in and I feel it would be a nice place but the job things is what worries me. We indeed have the funds to move there but not without jobs first. My line of work is Floor care as in strip/wax floors, carpet care, etc. also above ground mining. Im looking for Full time Perm. 4/14/2013Hello Ann. Im David and currently live in Schwenksville Pa and Miss the Southern Arizona so much it hurts. I was born here in Pa but after living in that part of Arizona I found out my true home is there, my heart , mind, body and soul is at peace there as if I lived some past life time there, Smile. Ive applied for many jobs in that part of Arizona and there are jobs but I fear what is happening is most if not all the corps seek to hire locals first before hiring someone from out of state. Im trying hard, so very hard but its just not happening. I even pray to the Lord each night for answers. Im 50, white male, look like im in my early 40s and most of the time feel like it as well. I love getting out in nature, see my profile. I love Tombstone for im a History buff for sure and Love Western history. So what do you do for a living Ann, especially in Tombstone or are you Retired? 4/14/2013Hello, how are you. Well very pretty you are, im just very honest so speak my mind, smile. I see you live in Graham County, I miss this area so much it hurts for I now live in Pennsylvania and moved back here to take care of my mother who was 80 but now im ready to move back to Arizona but of course need a job first. Ive been applying to many jobs but I think the problem may be that most corps will hire local before hiring someone from out of state, not sure cause I never hear from anyone. I use to work in Morenci at Phelps Dodge Mining, Now called Freeport Mcmoran driving a 300 ton Cat mine truck, loved the job much but then prices of copper dropped and and they got rid of people so lost that wonderful job. 4/14/2013Well to start, in the past 8 years ive lived in 7 states, some pros and cons. Tucson I loved in all respects except its not as nice as living in a small town but it was nice. Willcox on the other hand which is located half hour from the Mexican border. This town had a pop of a little over 3,000 people and we were being flooded from Non legal's from the border, creating lots of drug related crimes, no jobs, stores shutting down all over town, the town was failing slowly but surely, its a shame because it could of been a great little historic town to live in.
I lived in Prescott Arizona as well and this town has everything you need shopping was, Restaurants, historic sites, parks, paths, jobs, the works, The Navajo indians were great people to live around. We miss the West coast so very much and seek to move back if I can find a job ( Company willing to hire a person from out of state )
