Sidney, OH

A Fine City! - 5/23/2012
I was born in Sidney, OH and have been living here since 1999. I believe it to be a high quality community and a great place for a child to grow up.

CLIMATE: The climate in Sidney is how the weather should be. The spring's are warm and have plenty of spring showers, and the summer's are sunny and clear. The fall season is comfortably cool and the winter's are quite mild.

LIVING COST: The cost of living is relatively low in Sidney.

CRIME: Sidney does not have a high crime rate. As with all cities, there is the occasional misconduct. The general population is welcoming, energetic, and welcoming of newcomers.

CULTURE AND RECREATION: There are all kinds of races and ethnicites that reside in this town. The City does offer some cultural opportunities, and is expanding. There is always plenty to do here as well. The city is littered with well-maintained playgrounds and beautiful parks, especially the 150+ acre Tawawa Park, and not to mention the amount of football fields and baseball fields. There are a few bars in the downtown area, fine eats, and shopping. There is also a theater which has been fluctuating much between all kinds of arts ranging from movies, plays, and live music.

EDUCATION: The public education here I believe is to be pretty much mediocre. The many school buildings are nice and well-maintained. When it comes to private schooling though, this city's got it! There are a couple of competetive private middle schools, and 2 private high schools. One of the highschools, Lehman Catholic, is nationally ranked for its accolades and 98%+ college attendance rate.
