I Love Dacula -
9/10/2008After growing up in the hustle of S Fl, moving to Dacula was culture shock. It is quiet, friendly, country-like, yet only about 10 minutes from the biggest mall in the SE and about 15 restaurants. You can't beat it. The people actually speak to you, not bark at you, the parks are great, there are plenty of kid-friendly parks and tons of family activities. The schools are ranked in this years CNN top 1300 schools in the nation. The weather is great. Summers are pretty hot, but fall & spring are beautiful. You are only about 1 1/2 hours from the mountains, so you can see snow in the winter and beautiful fall foilage. While the lake (Lake Lanier) is not the beach (and that is the only thing I miss from FL), it will suffice. Other nice cities nearby include Suwanee & Buford.I don't miss FL at all.
