Oriental, NC

not much beyond sailing - 8/5/2008
Oriental is a sleepy little sailing town. The water is shallow and protected and the mild winters mean sailing is possible almost year round. It is a friendly community but if you need to work this county is not the place to come. Jobs are scarce and low paying. if you enjoy a variety of cultural events and interesting restaurants this is not the area to come to. Currently the pizza places and such are fine but choices for other types of dining are limited. There are cultural events during the winter about once a month. It is very much a community for retirees.
