What definition of "per capita" are you using? -
6/13/2008Your Health section says "There are 131 physicians per capita in Richford (zip 05476), VT. The US average is 170."
The term "per capita" is a Latin phrase meaning "for each head." I defy you to find anywhere that it means anything but "per person." At least, that's what it meant when I took Statistics 101.
By your statement, there are 131 physicians per person in Richford, versus a national average of 170 physicians per person.
Even if you simply have it backwards, there might be 1 physician for each 170 people in the US, but for your information, there is ONE physician in Richford for 2,858 people.
Your information is incorrect, and your terminology is 100% wrong. You need to fix it.
