1/25/2010While unemployment is always a problem here, this city is no worse than any other old Northeastern city. Yes, we do have crime and bad areas, just as any other city does. We also have a vibrant arts community, a growing tourist industry, wonderful coastal location on Buzzards Bay and easy access to Boston, Providence, Newport and Cape Cod. We also have a mild (by New England standards) climate, excellent seafood and a reasonable cost of living.
Is it perfect or the nicest place in America...No...but it has enough good things to allow for a very comfortable life.
