3/30/2013Wow, I am shocked at the review above. My husband and I currently live here after 20 years of military service. We have two teenage boys and absolutely love Fredericksburg. We have experienced many different cities and cultures and both agree that Fredericksburg was our pick for retirement. It has so much to offer with it's close proximity to mountains and beaches, not to mention DC and Richmond. Yes, the cost of living is higher here and traffic can be a bear but with that comes great schools and lots to do in the community. We have a wonderful community with lots of involvement from fellow families. So sad that the writer above had such a bad experience but so many military families I know and have fallen in love with Fredericksburg and are choosing to call it home as well. Also, I am not sure why you chose to shop at Food Lion with a Wegman's right here in Fredericksburg. I agree with Dayna that Eisa may have a hard time anywhere she goes.

10/9/2009Our family just moved into the Elizabethtown area a few months ago and we love it!!! It is a great place to raise a family. It has a great small town feel, (I would guess about 30,000 pop.) with everything that you need. It is a very well kept town. The people here are so nice. We are very pleased with the schools in the area. Elizabethtown Independent Schools have great test scores and are very small in comparison to the county schools, however, Central High School is a larger school and has lots to offer. Louisville is less than an hour away to the north and Nashville, TN is about 2+ hours away to the south. Hardin County is a dry county (no bars and strip clubs) which some people may not like, but with all the problems with alcohol these days, I am fine with that,(again great place to raise kids). Cost of living is much more affordable compared with other places we have lived.
