Not the best place -
5/2/2013Been living in Hopatcong for five years and cannot wait to leave. Everyone I know personally either has left or is itching to. The schools have declined every year since I've been here. The lake is pretty and there are some nice beach clubs around it. There are a few youth sports in town (street hockey, soccer, football/cheer, little league, track and basketball). There's girl and boy scouts. Many people opt for private schools or homeschool. If you want h.s. sports, we have almost none. (No ice hockey, lacrosse, swimming, field hockey, volleyball, freshman sports and soon to be no band). So there's a lot that needs improving. There's a real lack of playing fields in town and the ones that are here are unkempt and ugly. If you have little kids, look elsewhere.
