Great Place to Live...but I wonder -
4/14/2008I've been here since early 2004 and I love it. Commute time is WAY OFF though - 30 min would not get you far. Consider 45 min on the 101 into Tempe, 1 hour plus on the I-10. To downtown Phoenix or up to 6 or 7 miles north of downtown Phx - would take 1 hour & 10 min or 1 hour & 15 min. The I-10 is dreadfully slow. Forget the 101 if you have to go downtown because it does not veer West. Depending on what you do, clerical work is probably nearby but most good jobs are not, not in the legal field, that is for sure. I am shocked to learn that the air is so bad. I thought it would be better this far from the City. I have known for a long time that the HOA does not meet the age requirements i.e. 20% under (I don't recall what it is) and I haven't seen any 19 year olds - the minimum age to occupy one of our homes. However, nobody has ever taken a census at our home so I know your figure is not up to date. There is a 40s and 50s Club and numerous activities, tennis courts, lakes for walking dogs, and it's a very quiet place. I like it here. Most of the neighbors are very nice. Who is doing something about our air quality? Is anyone doing anything, anyone in a position to do anything? What can we do? Does anyone know?
