City Life -
3/25/2008Richmond is multi-cultural and is always working hard to improve quality of life. Current Mayor Doug Wilder, is a no nonsense kind of guy, and I believe things will continue to improve. City schools have been pretty bad for a long time, but they are definitely on the up swing now. Because of Richmond's mid U. S. Atlantic position, with continuing conscientious attention to its schools, controlling crime, and tightening up of the government, it will soon be a major player in attracting more new businesses. There is some new emphasis on restoring some of the old downtown to it's past charm, which will make the city more attractive to all.

Powhatan, Va Best public schools -
3/25/2008 We have lived in Powhatan, moving from Richmond, for about five years. The public schools here are amazing. Our daughter started at the junior high and is now in the high school. In our experience, there has been no bullying, racial problems, or drinking or drug problems. The teachers are devoted and fair and inspiring. The high school has all kinds of well chaperoned extracurricular activities, and trips. I couldn't be happier and our daughter has blossomed in this environment. Only drawback is that the county is growing too quickly, and trying to re-zone all it can, to commercial growth.
