Hey, wait a minute - "a happy harry's liquor store on every corner." - I don't think so. There's only two in town. Why the need to exaggerate? I have MetLife ins. and found a dentist right away, in town and only 3 min. from my house. I agree that winter can be a challenge if one likes to do outdoor activities like biking and running but being an active person and having an active lifestyle is a choice. This town has a 24 hour fitness, planet fitness, a tennis/ raq. ball center, and two YMCA's (other sports centers that I won't mention)all only 7 miles of each other and parks galore. If you like biking there are something like 20 miles of bike paths in this town. See fargo parks and recreation website. This town is SMALL and very livable so give it a chance. I'm sure it is quite different than what your used to. I moved here from WI and it's not as nearly into beer, snowmobiling and red meat as most in WI. Obesity is not as prevalent here as in other places in the US. Hockey is bigger here but we're pretty close to Canada so that explains that. As far as football, who doesn't like that? Love Farve and Fargo!!!!

Have only lived here little over a year and really enjoy it. Nicest people I've met anywhere. It's a diverse community with many opportunities to serve others in need. Many ways to serve homeless, new immigrants, the young...etc. Community spirit and involvement is very high. The way everyone pitched in to save the city during the flood was beyond words. Great place to raise kids, low crime, and I've heard the school standards are excellent. Many opportunities for sports, arts, theater...etc for kids to stay active. Great Libraries too! If you like the midwest and don't mind a longer (7 month) winter you'll love Fargo!
