Looking for a place with lower humidity/heat index -
7/11/2006My wife and I live in this small community 40 miles west of Houston on the I-10 freeway. It is a nice, safe little town, but as is almost all the rest of the Texas Gulf coast, the high humidity is taking its toll on my wife and I.
We are actively searching (partly using Sperling's Best Places) for a small place with lower humidity and a good Comfort Index. The other consideration is, since we are retired people living a a fixed budget, low housing costs.

Air quality -
7/8/2006We live in Texas, and are planning to retire to New Mexico.
Some of the cities we can afford in NM have a very low Air Quality Index. Does that mean that we could get sick if we live in one of those communities? Where we live now, Brookshire, TX has an AQI of 68
Since we are mature citizens, we consider that Air Quality is important to consider a place to live the rest of your years.
Thank you,
