A Family Town? -
3/28/2006Manteca is advertised as a "family town". However, recently with the inevitable rise in population, we have also seen a substantial increase in crime. From graffiti, to car theft, to violence, pretty much all forms of crime have risen. I have lived in Manteca my whole life. I was here from the time it was a small suburb of ten to twenty thousand, to where it is today (about 60,000 roughly) now with the problems that are associated to larger cities. It's underdeveloped infrastructure leaves no room for gang units and although the town's councilmen give the impression that Manteca is a "family town", they do little to protect the families within it.

Crime increase -
3/28/2006Manteca has been advertised as a "family town". Recently, however, Manteca has been the recipient of a much expected population increase. Due to the towns underdeveloped infrastructure, we have seen a tremendous increase in crime without the neccessary police to prevent it. Nearly all forms of crime have received an increase; from graffiti, to car theft, to violence, etc. with no funds for gang units. The town's councilmen continue to convince people to move there under the pretense of a "family town", yet they do little to protect the families within it.
