Humble, TX
NIce, cheap and quiet -
5/11/2007I don;t live in Humble. I live next door in Kingwood, but it's not listed.
I love Kingwood and have for 21 years. Lots of trees (the livable forest is its nick name) and it has great schools, lot's to do (the Kingwood College Orchestra is at the Montreau Jazz Fest this year), and near Houston, the greatest cultural secret in the US.
I live in a $260,000 home that would cost over $1,000,000 in Boston, NY, LA, or even Nashua NH.
We have the cheapest gasoline because we make it here. We are near the beach, 600 miles of coast, and have hills and lakes within two hours of us.
Medical care is the best in the US with St Lukes, MD Anderson, Texas Childrens and The Galveston Burn Center.
We have the 2nd highest number of theater seats in the US after NYC and many Broadway shows run here first. Tyhe Opera is 2nd to none and our Museums feature many exclusives you do not see in places like Boston or LA.
Our Universities rival those of any other US city.
We have the largest concentration of engineering firms in the world and Houstonians have built the world and reached the moon and stars.
Stay away though, we don't want you bringing us your problems. If you come here, learn our way or go away.

Boston is worst city in USA -
5/11/2007Boston is home to the worst drivers, worst roads, meanest people and baddest weather to boot. A week in Boston is a year in purgatory. I never met more stuck up people or narrower ideas than in Boston.
Do not try to drive in Boston. A trip from Fitchburg to Logan is a nightmare and sure to leave you shaking. No one lets anyone else in line.
The restaurants have decent food but surly waitstaff, as if they are a bit too good to really take care of YOU! Stay away from anything near Fanuell(sp?) Hall.
For a real taste of elitism, try to have a discussion with anyone indoctrinated at Harvard or any of the other area colleges. The most attended course appears to be "Smug 101".
I went to school near Boston and remembered it fondly until my recent visit.
I intend to stay far far away. Perhaps it will slip into the bay one day and save America.
