4/26/2011Being and architect from Europe myself and having also lived in Virginia, I can say that the worst 'architecture' is IN Virginia out of all states in the US. All houses look alike here, are made of sticks and the style in general is a horrible imitation of colonial architecture. We are living in 2011 now but where does it show? There seems to be no understanding how to create modern architecture that fits today's lifestyle. At least in Florida, especially in the Miami area, they know how to incorporate modern living into personal and functioning architecture. American Cookie cutter homes are the worst I've seen and would never live in them. South Tropical Trail in Merrit Island has interesting properties. And if your house is built with concrete (as most houses should be, except for mountain homes)you should have no problems - come hurricane season. Also the windows leave a lot to desire. Hopefully the European safety windows (mandatory in all homes) will soon be reality also here.
