This Ain't Mayberry -
6/13/2017My husband and I moved here seven years ago, thinking this to be a nice, neighborly town. Unfortunately, Prescott Valley is far from it.
If you are a walker, there aren't any sidewalks in the residential areas, unless you move into a HOA neighborhood. We're not really sure what happens to the tax money collected here, but it's not going into road improvements. (On that subject, the town council seems to be filled with the same cronies, term after term.)
The insect population, namely grasshoppers are right at home here. If you have an aversion to large bugs, then PV may not be the place for you.
As for friendly neighbors, I guess we picked the wrong neighborhood. We've been here seven years and have not made any friends in this town, and we're very outgoing people. It seems most of the residents here are big city transplants and prefer to stay to themselves or small-minded types who immediately reject anyone that doesn't follow their politics/opinions/religion.
Jobs are mainly service industry. I believe the only way many afford the housing here is by having hefty retirements.
I hate to be negative, but if we could do it over, we would have moved way further north.
