I am a senior citizen living in the suburbs on Long Island. I have two grown children and one grandson all of whom I love dearly. I am between jobs at the moment--taking the summer off but will have to find something in the fall. There is no way to live in this area without supplementing your income. I am hoping to relocate in the next year or two, I have always loved Arizona but it would be hard to give up the ocean, but I think that would be my first choice. I would like to be able to retire and get back into some creative outlets, maybe painting.

I find the quality of life here in Bay Shore becoming more and more difficult. Due to the lack of convenient public transportation our population is forced to clog the roads and highways to get anywhere. The cost of gasoline gets higher each day and everything else is climbing right along with it. Home heating fuel has gone through the roof! On the bright side, we do have some of the finest beaches in the world even though the season is too short. And the close proximity to the city gives great opportunities for theater, museums, etc. The taxes here are prohibitive especially for the young folks starting out and for seniors living on fixed incomes. I am looking for "greener more affordable pastures".
