La Porte, TX
La Porte is a great city to live in -
8/20/2021I have lived in La Porte for all most 4 years. The beach is five minutes from my house. The city services are the best that I have experienced when compared to Irving, Prairie View, Beaumont, and other cities in Minnesota and Wisconsin. The schools are student-focused rather than teacher-focused. The parents are also engaged in their children's education.
There are a lot of refineries near the city which makes for a safety-conscious community. The air and water is closely monitored which is also a safety precaution.

It is not like other Texas cities -
6/27/2020I lived in this city for five years and was shocked. They love to say "they represent black Americans" but they represent stupidity. The leaders hate to serve their citizens. Higher property tax, higher utility cost, and fines. Almost no police force, trash collection is very limited, permitting is in word only, and the city is run to serve the needs of the local government. I moved as soon as I realized that there was no future within the city limits.
