Wonderful place to live - 5/8/2009
The Salmon/Carmen, Idaho lifestyle is ideal. Our weather is mild compared to the rest of the state. We have a comparatively safe environment all of the time. Our setting is beautiful, beneath the Continental Divide and lovely mountains all around us. The Salmon River is lovely and runs through the town. The only drawback is employment is very scarce. Mostly retired or government people live here. My children grew up here, graduated from high school here, but had to leave for education and career opportunities. We live on a lovely ranch and my husband and I are semi-retired. He still ranches and I retired from the court system and am now a full time legal assistant for a local attorney. For a small town, we have many cultural activities and many things to keep us busy. We love our lifestyle here in the mountains of Idaho.
